The Origin of Varsity Jackets
Varsity jackets originated way back in Harvard University in the year 1865 when patches were sewn on students' baseball uniforms. The uniforms weren't originally called varsity jackets but since the 1930's, they have been widely known as varsity jackets. These jackets are basically made of different material and usually contain chenille lettering.
Cowhide leather: It is versatile and a little costly. It provides protection against adverse weather conditions, and you can customize it according to your needs.
Faux leather: This leather is lower in price but it's not very durable. However, due to the low price, many people prefer this material. An added bonus to this is that no animal skin is used in the manufacturing process. For all the animal activists out there, this is perfect for you.
Wool: This material keeps you really snug and warm during the bitter winter. Come on, who doesn't want to walk around with a comfy blanket-like jacket?
Cotton fleece: This material is cheaper, breathable and lighter to carry which makes it a really popular buy.
Polyester: This is available in many colors. Also, the fabric is soft, smooth and comfortable so you can flaunt your look with an air of confidence.
To sum it up:
Cowhide leather: Expensive, good quality and water resistant.
Faux leather: Low in quality but affordable.
Wool: Good for harsh weather
Cotton fleece: Cheaper and breathable
Polyester: Variety and comfortable.
With your final decision, you'll be ready to rock the red carpet. All you need is a little sass and confidence for the final touch.
